Why are some people so good at making money but I am not? I cannot even convert my acquired skills, knowledge, experiences and accomplishments into $$$? Is it due to lack of financial intelligence? Both of my parents were entrepreneurial in a smaller scale but I didn’t inherit their ability to make money by hustling. Is it because I studied formally and spent my whole working life in community service and humanitarian causes? But that was an area that I was drawn to. Maybe this is my purpose! To serve the less privileged and the minority, to make volunteering as a professional career and to love and care for my family deeply which is also culture-based.
Nothing bad with that but my situation needs another person, and/or, a different circumstance to fulfill my need for financial stability especially in my old age. To fill that gap, I searched for and stumbled upon a man who was emotionally and financially victimized by a lady that he truly loved for many years and who ended up scamming him. He wanted to get out of that situation so he decided to search for a potential partner and that was when we met each other. We both laid our cards open on the table and we decided to help each other. Him emotionally and I, financially.
It has been nine years since we met and decided to get married (sans the romantic love) for mutual convenience and for legal purposes. I had been collecting benefits under his name with his 50-solid work years, and he had been a part of my immediate family as a close friend. As an “adoptive relative,” he attends special celebrations with my family and visits us occasionally when he is invited. For almost a decade now, he had been helping us financially and we are both genuinely happy with our unconventional arrangement.
